Fremantle Railway Station

Opened in 1907, the station was especially designed to serve the new harbour and the growing town.

Of special interest are the cluster of black swans on the facade of the building. In the park in front of the station is an unusual drinking fountation and water trough. It was erected to the memory of two young men who died of thirst while on an expedition into the outback. Their father chose the water trough as a fitting memorial to their fortitude.

Today, it's a bustling terminal connecting train passengers between Perth and Fremantle.
