Corvettes Association Memorial

This memorial was erected in 1984. It is situated on Monument Hill alongside the main Fremantle War Memorial. It offers superb views of the city, the harbour and Gage Roads in the distance.

It was designed by Les Olsen and is constructed of Donnybrook stone. It commemorates all those men who served on any of the 52 Australian built corvettes, especially those who gave their lives in doing so during World War II.

The structure is such that any person sitting there, whether it be on the seat or on the bollards looking out to sea, can either reminisce or imagine what life was like at sea during that time.
