Drysdale River National Park
Isolated and remote Drysdale River National Park is untouched outback wilderness at its best.
One of the best ways to access this pristine slice of Australia is by taking a scenic flight where you’ll see spectacular gorges, cliffs and waterfalls, which contrast against broad plains and rivers.
Drysdale River National Park covers a huge area of nearly half a million hectares and harbours a large number of rare and unusual plants and animals.
There are nearly 600 species of plants here and scientists are still finding new records.
Animal life includes wallabies, sugar gliders, bats, salt water crocodiles and more than a hundred species of birds.
True adventurers can go wild bushwalking and camping, but there are no trails or facilities.
Access to Drysdale River National Park is via tracks on Carson River Station from the Kalumburu Road. You must obtain permission from the Kalumburu Aboriginal Corporation, telephone 08 9161 4300 to enter.
The park is located about 100 kilometres south of Kalumburu and 150 kilometres west of Wyndham.
