Eagle School of Microlighting
Microlights, powered hang gliders, are factory made to aircraft safety standards, and approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. This is the perfect way to explore the beautiful Ovens Valley and the spectacular Mount Buffalo plateau from the air - an unforgettable experience!
During all flights you will be shown how the glider is controlled, and will then be given the opportunity to control the glider under instruction. At the highest point of your flight, (either 3000 or 6000 feet), the engine will be switched off for a silent glide back to the airstrip. At this point you will experience what un-powered flight feels like this is the closest you get to flying like an eagle.
If you've never been up in a Microlight before, any of the nine Trial Instructional Flights listed will give you a good feel for how the Microlight is controlled - and with training bars fitted to our aircraft it's a real hands on experience.
We like to refer to these flights as being "scenic instructional flights"- scenic because of the beautiful surroundings that we fly in, and instructional because we give you fully supervised and expert instruction as part of your flight. It's completely up to you how much input you wish to have: you might just like to sit back observe and take it all in or you may wish to fly the trike all the way, apart from taking off and landing.
There is only one danger that we feel we must warn you about now, however: once you've experienced Microlighting you may find it highly addictive!!
