Overlooking the Great Otway State Park in the Pennyroyal Valley, 20 mins from the Great Ocean Road and Lorne, Birdsong Retreat is a privately run retreat set amongst some of the southernmost rainforest in the world.

This beautiful 60 acre retreat will allow you to relax, unwind and enjoy, surrounded by pure, fresh air and soothed by the sounds the crystal clear Pennyroyal creek with it’s plentiful supply of Trout (in season). Let the sounds of the bush and the sweet smell of the forest work their magic as the hustle of the city is left behind.

Birdsong is also a registered "Land for Wildlife Property" and operates as Eco friendly to the environment as possible. All water is tank rainwater. Firewood is sourced from the land whilst more than 2000 trees have been planted since the current owners began managing the property.

With a variety of accommodation options, Birdsong is the perfect choice for a quiet weekend or end of year conference alike. The Barn can also be stylishly decorated for special occasions whilst the garden and surrounds provide the perfect environment for an intimate wedding party.

Jackeroo\'s Cottage

With spectacular views of Pennyroyal Valley and the Otway forest, the Jackeroo\'s Cottage is for those who long for luxury and privacy in their own beautiful valley.

Perfect for a romantic retreat or weekend with your favourite people, the Jackeroo\'s Cottage is nestled at the edge of a private forest abundant with wildlife, tall mountain ash and exotic tree ferns.

Have a nap or read a book on the sun deck overlooking the valley. Later you relax in the double spa to watch the sunset and then snuggle up on the couch to enjoy a DVD movie or two.

The Jackeroo\'s Cottage is perfect for 1 or 2 couples, or a small family and has 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a spa room off the lounge room. There is a seperate shower and toilet.

Stockman\'s Cottage

The Stockman\'s Cottage has been tastefully restored in shades that reflect the adjoining forest and offers a country style to make you feel relaxed and at home.

Our guests love to sit and unwind on the long verandah nestled at the edge of 70 acres of private forest. You can enjoy a glass of bubbly in the spa off the lounge room.

The view overlooking the valley is spectacular at sunset.

The Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps between 2-8 people in comfort.

The Farmhouse

Relax and feel at home in traditional country style only 15 minutes from Lorne\'s superb beaches. The Farmhouse has 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and is great for family holidays, birthdays, wedding parties, meetings & conferences.

The Farmhouse has spectacular views of the Otways across Pennyroyal Valley. Nestled in towering gums and tree ferns, the path meanders down to the valley you have acres of space to catch fat yabbies, trout, perch and blackfish or play tennis, volleyball, cricket, practice your golf swing or just enjoy the gardens.

The Homestead

The main part of The Homestead will have a multi use area where we will be able to cater for groups/weddings/conferences, when it has not been let as a self contained cottage and will consist of a lounge/dining room/commercial kitchen/office and a large outdoor entertaining deck.

This cottage is available for renting as a self-contained cottage, two separate self-contained wings or a bed and breakfast room.

The Homestead will be next to the above ground solar heated swimming pool which is being installed for the use of all our guests.
