Family owned and operated, Mount Avoca's dedication to quality is apparent along with the respect for traditions in winemaking. Estate grown fruit is hand-crafted into full flavoured wines of great balance and longetivity. Honest varietal expression and true terrier character have resulted in a level of quality and consistency not often found among boutique vineyards. Mount Avoca is embracing innovation and world first technology ProCork.
Mount Avoca produces fine, approachable red wines, including a robust and berried Shiraz, a chocolaty Cabernet and a concentrated black current and plum Merlot. Mount Avoca's hand crafted Sauvignon Blanc is arguably the best in the Pyrenees with tropical passionfruit notes and a smooth lingering finish.
A visit to this cellar door is invariably a satisfying experience "Great big country, Great big Wines"
Winewise June 2005, highly recommended 2001 Shiraz. 'The nose is fruit driven, but simple with the palate really delivering the flavours'. Balanced by ripe tannins and well handled oak.
