Comfort Inn Gold Rush
The Comfort Inn Gold Rush offers motel accommodation at Queenstown on Tasmania’s west coast. Queenstown is a four-hour drive from Hobart (256 kilometres) and two-and-a-half hours from Burnie (180 kilometres).
Comfort Inn Gold Rush has a choice of 26 ground floor units, some with mountain views. Rooms range from one-bedroom suites to family units with queen-size beds and between one and three singles. There is also a wheelchair access unit for guests with a disability. Each unit has an ensuite, tea and coffee making facilities and some have a kitchen. Other facilities include Internet access, direct dial STD/ISD telephones and a tour booking service. You can sample local and imported beers and fresh Tasmanian produce in the licensed restaurant, or try a fine Tasmanian wine.
Queenstown was established in the 1890s when copper was discovered in the surrounding mountains. Take an underground mine tour, discover local history in the museum or board the West Coast Wilderness Railway. Drive 40 minutes further west to Strahan and cruise the mirror-calm waters of the Gordon River, go sea kayaking, or take a seaplane flight over the Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness Area.
