J Boag and Son Brewery
Experience a tour of J Boag and Son Brewery in Launceston, northern Tasmania. James Boag commenced his brewing tradition on the banks of the Esk River in 1852.
Tours start and finish at the 'Boag's Centre for Beer Lovers' which is open Monday to Friday. The centre houses a museum and a retail store where merchandise is available to purchase.
During a tour of this brewery you will see all the processes that produce the amber liquid and have an opportunity to taste the beers that constantly win gold at the Australian International Beer Awards. Choose from two brewery tours including the Boag’s Discovery Tour and the Boag’s Beer Lovers Tour. The discovery tour lasts one hour and offers an insight into key elements of the traditional brewing process. It concludes with a tasting of four award-winning beers. The second tour is 90-minutes long and provides a more comprehensive insight into the brewing techniques and technology that makes Boag’s beer unique. At the end of this tour enjoy tasting four award-winning beers matched with King Island cheese. After the tour, visit the brewery museum, highlighting the family history and development of the Boag’s brand over the last century.
