Tinderbox Pty Ltd
The Tinderbox Vineyard, in southern Tasmania, offers fine, cool climate Tasmanian wines. Located on the coast at Tinderbox, the boutique vineyard is a 25-minute drive south of Hobart (24 kilometres).
The one-hectare vineyard, overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island, specialises in Tasmanian pinot noir crafted by acclaimed Tasmanian winemaker Andrew Hood. Open by appointment only, the vineyard offers an opportunity to taste award-winning Tasmanian wine in a stunning rural and coastal setting.
Tasmania’s cool climate sets it apart from the rest of Australia as a prime wine-growing region. Since the first wines were produced here in the mid-19th century, the Tasmanian wine industry has grown to over 200 vineyards, producing more than 6,500 tonnes of grapes per year. Tasmania’s cool climate with its long, sunny autumns is perfect for growing intensely-flavoured Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gewürtztraminer and Riesling grapes.
