Triabunna Visitor Information Centre
The Triabunna Visitor Information Centre offers tourist services and unique artwork on Tasmania’s east coast. Triabunna is 90 minutes north east of Hobart (88 kilometres/55 miles).
The Triabunna Visitor Information Centre, located on Spring Bay, overlooks the Tasmanian Seafarers’ Memorial Wall, marina and local fishing fleet. Here, you will find information and assistance for local accommodation and touring, as well as Internet access, rest rooms and showers. A feature of the Centre is its collection of tapestry wall hangings. Made by local residents, the tapestries depict the Aboriginal and European history, development and culture of the area – one of Australia’s oldest municipalities.
Open daily, the Triabunna Visitor Information Centre also offers booking information on ferry services to nearby Maria Island National Park. Originally a colonial penal settlement, Maria Island is now a haven for bushwalkers. Here, you can see historic ruins, sweeping bays, rugged cliffs and mountains, and diverse wildlife including pademelons, Forester kangaroos, Bennetts wallabies and Cape Barren geese.
