City Sk8 Park
The City Skate Park, which is located on North Terrace, on the corner of Morphett Street Bridge, was officially opened in May 2000 and since then skaters have flocked enmasse to pit their skills against South Australia's finest skating facility.
City SK8 Park is a street style skate facility at which skaters of all ages test their skills on features such as a funbox, steps and blocks, seat grind, transition run and flat ramp combinations. But the Skate Park is not just a place for skaters. A three on three basketball court was recently added to attract a broader range of young people. It is a vibrant and exciting place that attracts spectators to watch the skills and energy of talented young people.
City SK8 Park was designed with safety in mind and features such as viewing areas on North Terrace ensure that skaters are highly visible to passers-by. The result is not only a well-designed youth facility, but also an exciting and unique feature for Adelaide.
City SK8 provides a space for young people to meet and a facility for them to recreate and showcase their skating and BMX talents. A range of activities and events are held in the summer months. Activities include coaching clinics, skating competitions and band performances. There is a web cam located at City SK8, so that young people can view the conditions of City SK8 via the Spinach website.
