Ayers House Museum
Ayers House Museum illustrates Victorian domestic life as it was lived both upstairs and downstairs. It's a colonial mansion named after the nineteenth century state premier Sir Henry Ayers.
Experience the social history of the period during a guided tour of the house. See a collection of historic costume, silver, artwork and furniture as well as changing exhibitions.
The house contains important decorative painted finishes on internal walls and ceilings that extend to every room, reflecting the differing function of each room. The house is thought to have been designed by George Strickland Kingston and was built over a period of several years.
A property of the National Trust of South Australia, Ayers House Museum is located in the thriving East End district of Adelaide’s central business district and is not to be missed.
