Noorla Heritage Resort
The Noorla Heritage Resort is a grand, award winning Italian Art Deco Villa built in 1926. The Noorla tells the story of its own history and the history of the Italian community in Hinchinbrook from the late nineteenth Century to the present. The hotel has recently been restored and now features extensive gardens, wide verandahs with cool breezes, al fresco verandah restaurant, atrium lounge room, tapas bar, Ceylon tea room, and cafe and boutique Caravan Park. It is also a centre for tours of the local region including Wallaman Fall and Tyto Wetlands. Make sure to notice its floor tiles, as they are unique in Australia, with some examples residing with the National Gallery in Canberra. It is a beautiful environment for a Devonshire Tea or glass of wine after the tour of the place.
