Illinbah Circuit
The Illinbah Circuit is located in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park. This stunning national park boasts extensive walking tracks along the McPherson Range, which allow visitors to explore the area's forests, creeks and waterfalls. Dramatic lookouts afford views over the Gold Coast, south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales.
Lamington is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, which includes the most extensive areas of subtropical rainforest in the world. The track now crosses the river 12 times before reaching Illinbah.
The Old Cedar Road is sometimes in poor condition and the river crossings are often difficult because the frequent floods change the positions of boulders and track entrances. Usually the track endings on each side of the river are marked with an easily visible red tag on a tree.
