Mount Scoria Conservation Park

Mount Scoria Conservation Park, near Biloela in Central Queensland, is Gangulu country. Rising 150 metres above cultivated plains, Mount Scoria is a striking local landmark and an important place for Gangulu corroborees. Take the short cultural track along the base of the mountain to view its many-sided basalt columns and seek insight its significance to the Gangulu people. Have a picnic or barbecue at the picnic area. Go birdwatching. Look for the characteristically-shaped bottle trees growing around the base of the mountain, relics of much wetter times.
