Gunya Titjikala
Gunya Titjikala offers an ultimate authentic experience of being a guest within a remote Aboriginal community on the fringe of the Simpson Desert, 120 kilometres south of Alice Springs. Go bush with the local Aboriginal owners on an exclusive day tour and learn the daily survival knowledge of one of the oldest living cultures in the world, then relax in accommodation that is ideal for the desert surrounds.
Gunya Tourism has formed a joint venture with the traditional Aboriginal community, Titjikala, to provide authentic indigenous experiences for tourists and to provide indigenous employment opportunities for locals within their remote environment. Fifty percent of profits are placed into the Titjikala Community Foundation, where proceeds are focussed on health, education and school retention initiatives.
