Cattai National Park
Cattai National Park, is in two separate sections. The Cattai Farm area, originally a land grant made to First Fleet assistant surgeon Thomas Arndell,
features Arndell's 1821 cottage, historic grain silos and ruins of a windmill believed to be the oldest industrial building in New South Wales. Grassy picnic
areas, barbecues and shelter sheds are provided beside the Hawkesbury River, and car-based camping is available year-round (bookings required). Park
use and camping fees apply.
Nearby Mitchell Park features a variety of plant communities including rare riverine rainforest. An extensive network of walking tracks gives you an
opportunity to explore, and there are grassy picnic areas with barbecues beside scenic Cattai Creek.
The park is 55 kilometres north-west of Sydney, 13 kilometres north of Windsor off the Pitt Town and Wisemans Ferry roads (unpaved sections).
