Ahimsa House

Ahimsa and its surrounding bushland were the home of Marie Beuzeville Byles (1900-1979). Marie was known as a committed conservationist, the first practising female solicitor in New South Wales, mountaineer, explorer and avid bushwalker, feminist, author and original member of the Buddhist Society in New South Wales. Now owned by the National Trust, the bush land is open to the public, as is the Buddhist meditation sanctuary "Hut of Happy Omens", the house however is not open to the public.
