Koala Park Sanctuary

Come and cuddle up to a koala! At the Koala Park Sanctuary koalas are on show all day, everyday. Shows are daily at 10.20 a.m., 11.45 a.m., 2.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m., where you can cuddle, feed, pat, and have your photo taken with the koalas. You can see free roaming koalas as well, within the 10 acres of rainforest, eucaplypt grove and native gardens.

You can also walk in and pat the kangaroos, meet a wombat and chat to cockatoos. There is lots more to see and do, including visiting the echidnas, dingoes, wedge tailed eagles, flying foxes, kookuburras and emus. Go along to one of the new sheep shearing shows on daily at 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to try your hand at shearing.

Opened in 1930, Koala Park was the first private koala sanctuary in New South Wales and was founded by the late Noel Burnet. The preservation of the koala is the main theme of the park. Research and captive breeding programmes have been developed over the years to achieve this aim. Educating the public about koalas and other native marsupials is another facet of the park.

There is ample parking for cars and coaches, kiosk facilities, wet weather koala showing area and a large souvenir shop with Australian gifts. You can travel to Koala Park by train, car, day tour.
