It is just an hour from the centre of Sydney, but a trip to Scenic Hills Riding Ranch is like stepping back 100 years.
Set among the bushland hills of Ingleburn in Sydney's south-west, the sprawling 360-hectare farm gives visitors a glimpse of what life was like for Australian pioneers. Wander along one of the many horse trails meandering through the property, once owned by explorer Charles Sturt.
The farm now has more than 300 horses and offers both 'townsfolk' and experienced trail riders the opportunity to gain facinating insight into life on a horse ranch.
