Hat Head National Park is located on 7396 hectares and is 24 kilometres north east of Kempsey. Hat Head has one of the best vantage points on the coast to view the migrating whales.

Hat Head is a rich coastal environment with one of the largest live dune systems in New South Wales. There are superb views from Hat Hill and nearby Smoky Cape. The Korogoro Peninsula Walk reveals coastal rainforest, a sea cave and arch.

Camping is permitted at Smoky Beach and Hungry Head rest areas. Pit toilet and fireplaces. Must bring own water and wood. night. 4WD recommended for Hungry Camp.

Smoky Beach and Hat Head : Surfing beaches; bush camping, picnicking, barbecues and toilets. No drinking water.

South West Rocks and Hat Head: Camping grounds.
