Grand Pacific Drive - Sydney to Wollongong and Beyond
Grand Pacific Drive commences 45 minutes south of Sydney International Airport. The drive takes you through coastal rainforests, quaint seaside villages, into Wollongong city centre and out to rolling hills, wineries and dairy farms of the south. From here, travel further to the greater South Coast or head west into Southern Highlands and then onto Canberra.
The Royal National Park (world's second oldest) offers stunning scenery of sub tropical rainforests and beaches. From here, stop at scenic Bald Hill and watch the hang gliders.
Travel along the Sea Cliff Bridge; 665 meters long and highlight of the drive. Head into coastal villages famous for their unspoilt surfing beaches and into lively Wollongong; offering great restaurants, beaches, plenty of accommodation and cultural attractions.
Driving into Shellharbour, Kiama and surrounds is spectacular with rolling hills connecting the coast in contrast to cliff hugging landscapes of the north.
The arc of the Shoalhaven sweeps from the coast to the inland valleys including coastal delights Nowra and Jervis Bay and hinterland gems kangaroo Valley and Berry.
Veer west to the Southern Highlands, head back to Sydney or continue through to Canberra. You may also like to explore New South Wales further and continue your journey to Melbourne.
