Jenolan Adventure CavingThe adventurous can follow their experienced guide into the depths of the earth into wild, undeveloped caves. Squeeze, crawl and climb through winding, ancient passageways - with only a headlamp to light your way. Emerge exhilarated and with an enhanced understanding of this special environment. Your senses will reel with that special feeling of exhilaration and accomplishment. All specialised caving equipment is provided. Bring old clothes (to go under overalls), boots or shoes with tread and a hat and sunscreen for surface activities. Whether a first timer or skilled adventurer, there is an adventure to suit. Trips range in ease/difficulty from a gentle introduction, to the intense experience of a full day of caving and abseiling. Your guides are nationally accredited. Tours and abseiling trips can be designed to suit beginners through to experienced groups. The Two Hour Plughole Adventure tour runs daily. It is a comprehensive introduction to adventure caving, including a short abseil into the mountain, then slide and wriggle through to the infamous 'S-Bend' squeeze. The Three Hour Aladdin Cave Adventure tour runs on the last Sunday each month, and offers some of the most beautiful formations of the adventure tours, extraordinary in colour and decoration. The Six Hour Mammoth Adventure Cave tour is the most extensive cave at Jenolan. It runs on the first Saturday each month and features enormous caverns and a swift underground river. The Six Hour Wiburd's Lake cave Adventure tour enables you to experience the sheer size of Wiburd's Lake Cave and see the fine crystal of Hennings Cave. The Seven Hour Central River Adventure tour lets you explore further into the Mammoth Cave - more abseiling, more climbing, more mud, more adventure! Bookings are essential. Jenolan Caves ConcertsThroughout the year, Jenolan Caves presents live music, underground. Stir your senses in the spectacular CATHEDRAL CHAMBER, home of the world's purest acoustics. When you attend a concert deep underground in the Cathedral Chamber, you usually also get a brief tour of the mighty Lucas Cave, followed by wine and cheese in historic Caves House, where you can chat with the performers. On the 3rd Saturday each month, you can be entertained by cello virtuoso, Georg Mertens. These are the longest series of cello concerts on the planet: more than 130 concerts. On the 4th Saturday each month, be swept away by the fiery and passionate Paganini Duo - guitar and violin - as they perform gypsy music from Hungary, Russia, Spain or Romania. Jenolan also presents larger concerts in the massive Grand Arch, including The Rhythm Hunters on November 22, 2008 and the annual Christmas Carols. For all concerts and other entertaining events, please see the Jenolan Caves website.
