Lake Arthur and Great Lake are not only hauntingly beautiful, they are famed for fishing, with trout eggs having been introduced as long ago as 1864. The first European to see Great Lake was a Danish convict, Jorgen Jorgenson, who earned a pardon by exploring for the Van Dieman's Land company.
