Kailis Australian Pearls
Situated in maritime Fremantle, Kailis Australian Pearls retails rare and exquisite Australian South Sea pearls from the Kailis family- owned farms in the waters off Western Australia’s northern Kimberley coast and Northern Territory.
It is pioneers of modern pearl farming, such as Western Australia’s Kailis family, who played an integral role in the development of today’s Australian South Sea pearl trade. They have farmed some of the most valuable and beautiful pearls ever produced.
Beginning with the collection of wild Pinctada Maxima oysters from the ocean floor, the shells are cleaned and returned to one of the Kailis family farm sites. Depending on the conditions of the environment, the shells rest for up to four months before the delicate process of seeding begins, when a graft of mantle tissue and a nucleus of Mississippi mussel shell are inserted into the oyster. The nucleus forms the centre of the pearl, around which the oyster will naturally secrete layers of satiny nacre.
After constant monitoring and nurturing for two years, the pearl is harvested. It is then graded on its lustre, size, shape, colour and surface quality, with only the very best chosen to carry the Kailis Australian Pearls name.
Kailis Australian Pearls possess an extraordinary iridescent quality. They are highly sought after, and recognised as prized, inherently beautiful, and timeless. They are desired accessories, warm to touch, very personal, and each one uniquely captivating.
Kailis Australian Pearls carefully chooses the very best pearls from its annual harvest to create luxurious collections of fine Australian South Sea pearl jewellery, ranging from lustrous strands and lavish pieces, to modern, luxurious creations.
The fact that Kailis Australian Pearls only sells pearls grown on its own farms gives them true provenance, which is backed by the unique ‘Kailis Australian Pearls Certificate of Authenticity’, that is provided with each purchase. This certificate not only confirms the Australian origin of your pearl, but also that you have in your possession an enduring gem of the finest quality that can be treasured for generations.
Kailis Australian Pearls is open seven days a week, and offers tourist refund schemes upon presentation of a passport and international airline ticket.
