Port Kembla, New South Wales

Port Kembla - Spring Hill is an established industrial and residential area, with residential areas located mainly in the south-east.

It was previously known as Red Point, Kembla Bay and Five Islands Bay. The Port Kembla area is the home of the Steel Works BHP which was established in 1926 as a steel manufacturing plant. Rapid growth took place during the 1950's and 1960's, aided by immigration.

Major features include Port Kembla Steel Works (Blue Scope Steel), Prot Kembla Harbour, Fishermans Beach, BHP Centenary, Australia's Industry World Tours, Coomaditchy Lagoon, Coomaditchy Lagoon Reserve, Harry Morton Park, Hill 60 Park, Port Kembla Heritage Park, King George V Park, Military Reserve and Breakwater Battery Museum.
