Kulin Bush Races
The Kulin Bush Races is the biggest special event in the wheat belt, epitomising the spirit and hospitality of rural Australia. Staged at the Jilakin Races Track, 14 kilometres east of Kulin on the Tin Horse Highway, the Kulin Bush Races is the only race meeting that incorporates a natural arena of native flora and fauna, in particular a vast array of wildflowers.
The Kulin Bush Races is a race weekend. Friday night’s art and craft exhibition displaying arts and crafts from local artists around Western Australia. Saturday’s festivities include a six card horse racing program, camel, sheep and dog races, gymkhana, children’s entertainment, live bands and delicious country style food. This is followed by Sunday’s Great Aussie Revival Breakfast to finish off the weekend.
Kulin Bush Races will take place from 2 to 4 October 2009. For more information or please contact the Kulin Resource Centre on 9880 1021.
