Macedon Ranges Jazz and Heritage Festival
The 8th annual Macedon Ranges Jazz and Heritage Festival is happening from 10 to 12 October 2008 in historic Kyneton, an easy hour by train or car from Melbourne. Featuring top classic jazz bands from Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales, the festival attracts local and interstate music fans to a celebration of the exciting music that emerged in New Orleans in the 1920s. This year's bands include Louisiana Shakers, State Summit, Gail Kingston and Hot Foot Jazz, Rod Andrew's Hot Peppers, Hot B Hines, Syncopators, Creole Bells, Peter Hooper Trio and Down South Jazz.
The festival kicks of with a free open air concert by Louisiana Shakers on Friday from 1-4 pm, followed by some free performances on Saturday and a farmer's market on Saturday morning.
