Free Family Fishing Festival
The Department Of Primary Industries is hosting the next 'Go Fishing In Victoria' Free Family Fishing Festival at Jubilee Lake in Daylesford.
This lake has been selected as a Premier site, one of five thoughout Victoria to host such an event and be developed as a family friendly site.
The festival has a number of workshops aimed at children aged 4-16 years. These workshops are fully instructed and assisted, perfect for the beginner or those after a few more tips. The workshops cover numerous topics including knot and rig tying, casting techniques, junior code of conduct and practical fishing in the lake.
There are many activities for the whole family including displays, jumping castle, local produce, face painting, prizes and childrens entertainers.
Flat Head Fred with his energetic show for the whole family and Sea Weed Sally with her marine display and touch tank are not to be missed.
All activities are free to registered participants and their families. All equipment is supplied, and no fishing licence is required by participants on the day.
This is the first festival held at Daylesford, events at the other four Premier sites have been a huge success, workshop spaces are limited so pre-registration is encouraged on 136 186. Come along and catch a new hobby!
