A month in the Lavender
In the farming country 10 minutes north of Daylesford, Lavandula grows lavender, olives and grapes.
The lavender is harvested right through January but on this special day Lavandula celebrates the hand harvest of the lavender crop: watch the harvesters cut the flowers with a hand sickle then make bunches that hang under the veranda to dry, see distillation of lavender water and lavender oil, try our body products, enquire about aromatherapy.
Walk in a beautiful European-style garden, visit the 1860s golden stone farm buildings, see lavender in fragrant bloom, local food and regional wine, stalls, music and entertainment, petanque and massage.
