Spinal Injuries Association Gala Fundraising Dinner
Around 300 guests will gather to dine, dance and dig deep for the inaugural Spinal Injuries Association Gala Fundraising Dinner on Saturday, 8 November.
The dinner will herald the arrival of Spinal Injuries Awareness Week, while also raising money for the Spinal Injuries Association - a not-for-profit organisation that was established in 1960 to assist people with paraplegia or quadriplegia to attain independence.
Many of the members who use wheelchairs and enjoy dancing are expected to attend. They will be inspired by the flawless routines performed by four Brisbane Wheelchair Dance Sport performers. These inspiring dancers do not let their wheelchairs get in the way of them performing iconic dances including the tango, waltz and samba.
Lisa Hunt, who has performed with Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Macy Gray and even rehearsed with Pavarotti, will amaze the audience with her two huge sets during the dinner.
